Default Took the KB Cobra to Slicks only @ GLD

Finally made it out to Great Lakes last night. Being my 2nd time ever at the track with the car I didn't expect to do much better than 11.5's. First couple runs I had no real clue what I was doing. Spun a lot off the line. (tires @ 28 psi) Put em down to 16 psi and they started to hook real nice. Only 1 run did I have wheel hop and I let off. I ran 7 times from 7:30 - 9:30. The temp was mid 60's. I was doing my burnout in 1st gear. I'd have to roast em for a while. I think the next outing I'll try 2nd gear to get more tirespeed. I really think the key is a nice long burnout to get the tires really warm along with lowering the tire pressure.

Overall I'm very happy with the results. Considering I'm running H&R race springs w/o isolators(Car is slammed) Stock IRS with a Billetflow IRS Brace. M/T 275 ET Street. I was launching around 3K with the last one a little higher. Car was hooking pretty good. Problem I had with launching the car prior was I find myself dumping the clutch and flooring it. New method. Let off clutch keep gas steady, wait for tires to hook and nail it.

Best run time slip

R/T .062
60' 1.668
330 4.759
1/8 7.257
MPH 100.36
1000 9.396
1/4 11.179
MPH 127.22

Great run on the DR's.

I assume that 1/8th mile mph is a typo or timing error.

This site has a TON of low 11 second cars that are one solid pass away from a 10 second timeslip. If there was ever Summer air to get it done, now is the time.

Slash, ExplorerThis, CobraJack, Rd Snake you guys listening?

Adam, don't you have big Hoosiers on there now? Get your ass to US41 and go pick up a 10 second timeslip. You're all out of excuses.

I don't know. The tires were doing a good job last night. I know I've raved about these 275's before but I reall love the way they respond. I have no itch yet for the Skinnies so It may be a while.

Hmm. I don't think so. I'll have to double check the slip when I get home.

The air was great. The air out in WI is different. So much cleaner. The sky was all different colors from puple to pink to blue with the most amazing clouds. It was quite the experince.

His fastest run while I was there

9.8 @ 141

I don't know what tubbed means. But it looked like a track car. I think the first run against it he ran a 10.8 or so. Very fast car.

Thanks for the exhaust compliment. SLP O/R X, MAC 3" C/B

He'll have some bs about how his car is apart waiting for the new monster blower.

I agree with the above comment 100% Being on a forum like someone else posted really does ruin your perpective for what fast really is. It hit me today. I still can't belive the time I ran.

nice ET! 1/4 mph is a bit lower than I would expect with your RWHP...are you staying on it through the end of the track?

oh, and you didn't go 110 in the 1/8th. lol You would be running 138+ out the back door with 110 in the 1/8th.

Like I said I'll check the slip. Yes I'm balls to the wall maybe 3 car lengths past the e/t signs maybe a car or so past where the rubber marks end.
